Every Step

Posted by Kristina Huff on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, In : Interesting Occurances
As I was walking back to my apartment one day, I came across this:

It struck me as surprisingly powerful. I went home and shared what I had seen with my roommates. We talked about it fondly, praising whoever stopped and gave the time to write that on the stairs. It was a nice thing to see after a long day of school. I have since thought about if often, especially the day I was married. I thought about how I wanted to make the commitment to be with my husband every step of his way, of our way...

Let The Kid Play With It.

Posted by Kristina Huff on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, In : A Snippet From My Life
I recently had the joy of having my sister and her adorable little boys over to visit. It was so much fun to see them and play with them. While on their visit, Sam, almost a year old, loved to explore the house. This was a new place for him, and he felt it was his duty to explore every inch of it. It wasn't long before he found the spring door stoppers. I remember playing with these as a kid, so I was delighted to watch my nephew learn how to poke it to make sounds. At one point, my little b...

Happy Birthhday!

Posted by Kristina Huff on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, In : A Snippet From My Life
Today, I want to talk about something that is not generally thought of when it comes to strengthening families. I want to talk about celebrating each other. I know that when I accomplish something important in my life, it makes it that much better if those I love are equally excited about my accomplishments with me. Celebrating someone else makes them feel special and cared about. Soon after my husband and I were first married, it was his birthday. The night before, I secretly decorated our ...

A Must-Read for all Fathers-to-be!

Posted by Kristina Huff on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, In : Odd Sightings
Hello! It's me again! Today, I want to talk about being respectful of your family members. The other day while in the bookstore, I saw this book:

This book is a joke, of course. It has "important tips for husbands" that include things like, "Don't make elephant sounds when your wife walks into the room." While this book is mostly for humor, there is also something to be said for it. In order to have a happy marriage, spouses need to learn how to treat and respect each other. Especially if on...

They Can't Promise Anything!

Posted by Kristina Huff on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, In : A Snippet From My Life
Hello! I'm back with part two of my Family Foundations project! Today, I want to talk about doing things as a family. This is a great way to strengthen family ties and stay a happy and together family. In my family, we enjoy going out and doing silly things. All of us like laughing together, and we all have our own unique sense of humor. Doing things as a family is great to learn more about each other, and interact with each other. To me, this has become even more important as the years pass...

Facial Expressions of Love

Posted by Kristina Huff on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, In : A Snippet From My Life
So for this week, I'm going to share some things that I think are important when it comes to families. This is an assignment for my Family Foundations class, but I think this project will be beneficial to my blog as well as to my class.
So today, I want to talk about expressing love for your spouse. I have been married for half a year, now. And my husband and I are starting to wonder if we will ever get out of our honeymoon phase. We are always happy to see each other, to hold each other's h...

Happy Halloween, Campus!

Posted by Kristina Huff on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, In : Odd Sightings
Halloween is descending upon us like the frigid weather proclaiming the coming of winter! And you know what that means... random pumpkins strategically placed on statues around campus! Don't believe me? Take a look! You can tell that he's thinking hard about that pumpkin smiling up at him. "I wonder how long this will take to rot in my lap?" Then the other statue's like, "Oh, shut up, Thinker. I'm trying to study!"
And this little guy, who we librarians affectionately refer to as Cristoph...

Life at the Library

Posted by Kristina Huff on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, In : Odd Sightings
Hello! I guess it's been a long while since I last posted on my blog! I've been wrapped up in my new tv show I'm writing so much, that I kinda lose track of everything else! So I'm going to take a little break, and write about my life. My life consists generally of working, homework, eating, classes, writing, and sleeping. That's my life summary, basically. During my work at the library, I find some pretty interesting things! Like this!
This is a box covered in barcodes. Covered!! What do...

Eggs and a Mustache!

Posted by Kristina Huff on Friday, September 21, 2012, In : A Snippet From My Life
Yeah, this title is odd, but they're both true!
FIrst up, eggs.Aren't they cute?! I hard boiled my eggs, and realized I was faced with a problem: All my roomate's and my eggs looked the same. How would we tell them apart? I didn't want to break open and egg to eat and have it be raw! So I got out my colored pencils and drew these adorable little faces on them! This was good because people who opened the refrigerator would usually say, "Awwww!" and their day would be brightened. ...

A Post from the Past

Posted by Kristina Huff on Saturday, March 10, 2012, In : A Snippet From My Life
    Hey, everyone!
I just decided that since I've had a pretty interesting past as far as blogs go, I might as well share an experience or two of my life while I lived in Jerusalem, Israel! I lived there twice, each time for a year. My father was one of the professors chosen to teach BYU students in a study abroad program in Jerusalem, so our family got to tag along! I was there for my second grade year, (7-8 years old) and for my junior year of high school. (16-17 years old). Just have to say...

Headbands!!

Posted by Kristina Huff on Friday, March 9, 2012, In : A Snippet From My Life
Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while! I've been really busy with school and work and slacking off! It takes time to do these things! Haha! Part of this slacking off included taking time out of a Sunday afternoon to visit my neighbor Mary. She's pretty much the cutest human ever. I have been an avid crochet-er since a very young age, but my knowledge of such things are limited. I visited Mary and had her teach me how to make this!
Sorry the picture is on sideways. I can't get it to turn ar...

A Day in the Life of a Librarian

Posted by Kristina Huff on Saturday, March 3, 2012, In : A Snippet From My Life
Hello, everyone! I decided to take a minute and talk a little about my life! Specifically, my job working at the David O. McKay Library. It's a really great place to work. The job assignments are fairly simple and routine, my coworkers are awesome, and my boss is the nicest boss I ever had!
I started working here a couple years ago, somewhere around August of 2010. I've moved up the ladder a little, learned a lot, and made a lot of friends. Some of the most useful skills to have while ...

The Metaphor on the Ground

Posted by Kristina Huff on Friday, March 2, 2012, In : Interesting Occurances
This was on the ground as I took my usual route to class. Here, we see an old arrow sign, and my old crappy shoes. (Don't worry. I have better shoes now.) I couldn't help it. I took a picture of it. One of my friends was with me and we started to joke. "Oh my gosh! It's pointing the way to Narnia!" "If we follow it, some crazy person will jump out and attack us! This is how they lure their victims!" We stood in the brisk autumn wind and talked for quite a while.
    Then I did something dange...

Dead Desk Guy!

Posted by Kristina Huff on Monday, February 27, 2012, In : Odd Sightings
This is my good friend, Dead Desk Guy. We've been friends ever since last fall. I sat down in my assigned desk in my screen writing class a few months ago and looked down. This dead guy was smiling up at me. At first, I must admit, this dude creeped me out. Who would draw a smiling dead guy on a desk? Are we high schoolers?
Anyways, after a while, I grew accustomed to the X-eyed smiling face. It was odd, and my classmates and I commented on the humor of it. "He must have not wanted...

Just to say hello!

Posted by Kristina Huff on Thursday, February 23, 2012, In : A Snippet From My Life
Not too much going on lately, but I feel it is important to write in my blog. I guess it's hard-wired into English Majors to write often. I just can't keep away from a computer or pen and paper for very long. Is anyone else like that? I've also found that I hate pencils. I guess it's because I'm left handed. My hand drags over what I've just written and the lead gets smudged over the paper and my hand and wrist! My friends call it silver hand disease. That's why I always either type or us...

That song must have been AMAZING!!!

Posted by Kristina Huff on Saturday, February 18, 2012, In : Interesting Occurances
This is probably going to be the best blog post I've ever written! I was walking back to my place after finishing a class. I usually look at the ground as I walk, as it's icy and I ALWAYS fall if I'm not paying attention. This time, though, I'm glad I looked up! I lifted my eyes from the boring grey of concrete, and what did I see? A young man listening to music on his iPod.
Usually, this is a pretty common sight, but this time, it would make my day! I saw him a few feet ahead of...

For Lack of a Better Word

Posted by Kristina Huff on Saturday, February 18, 2012, In : Stupiphany!
Hiya folks!
I decided to write a blog! But I only had one post on it. So I learned that I can make a blog right on this website! That's less passwords for me to remember! Hooray! So everything on my old blog will show up here, and I will continue to post (when I have the time!) on this website! How awesome is that?! Yay for killing several birds with one stone! Only... don't kill birds, because that's, like, inhumane or something. ;)
